Draft document: to be reviewed by a lawyer before publication (Projet de document : à faire relire par un juriste avant publication)

Terms of use

Burrow app for iPhone. Last updated: [DATE]. Draft version: 0.1. The French version is the reference for French-speaking readers.

In short

Burrow is free to use. Pro is an optional purchase handled by Apple: subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time in your Apple Account settings. Burrow helps you focus but does not guarantee a school result.

The full text follows, part by part. Use the contents list to jump to what you need.

1. Publisher and purpose

Burrow is an iPhone app published by Alex Gerard, Rue Saint-Martin 87, 6860 Ebly (Léglise), Belgium, reachable at support@burrowfocus.app ("the publisher"). These terms cover your use of the app and of this website. By installing Burrow, you accept them.

2. License

Burrow is licensed to you, not sold. The license is Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, available at apple.com. These terms add to it for the Burrow service, subscriptions and your rights. [TO BE CONFIRMED BY THE LAWYER: precedence between Apple's standard agreement and this text]

Burrow requires iOS 26.5 or later. You must be allowed to use the device and the Apple Account you install it with. If you are a minor, use Burrow with the consent of your legal guardian where the law requires it.

3. The service

Burrow offers a focus timer, an app blocker based on Screen Time, a progression system with Gaston and, as an option, a Study mode (subjects, exams). A free version and a Pro version exist; the details are on the pricing page.

4. Purchases, subscriptions and renewal

Purchases are made in the app, through the App Store and your Apple Account. Apple handles payment, billing and subscription management.

Pro offers (prices in euros, taxes included, for the euro area; the price shown in the App Store applies)

5. Withdrawal and refunds

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. For digital content or a digital service supplied immediately, you may lose that right if you asked for immediate performance and acknowledged that consequence: Apple collects your agreement at purchase.

To withdraw or ask for a refund:

Apple decides on refunds for App Store purchases. [TO BE CONFIRMED BY THE LAWYER: who is the trader under consumer law (Belgian Code of Economic Law) for in-app purchases, and compliance with the withdrawal function required since 19 June 2026] None of this removes a right the law gives you.

6. Your data

Your content (subjects, notes, sessions) belongs to you. It stays on your iPhone, and in your iCloud from version 1.1 if you turn on sync. The publisher has no access to it. If you erase the data in Burrow, it is deleted from the device and cannot be recovered by the publisher. Keep an iCloud or computer backup of your iPhone. Data handling is described in the privacy policy.

7. Expected use

You agree not to copy, decompile or bypass the app's protections, not to use it to harm others, and not to resell access to Pro. You are solely responsible for the apps and websites you choose to block.

8. Intellectual property

The app, Gaston, the artwork, the texts and the Burrow name belong to the publisher or its licensors. Your license gives you no right other than using the app. Apple, iPhone, Apple Watch and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc. [TO BE CONFIRMED: trademark clearance for "Burrow", ADR-0027]

9. Liability and statutory guarantees

The publisher aims to provide an app that works, but Burrow depends on iOS and Apple services, which can change or fail. Within the limits the law allows, the publisher is not liable for indirect damage, for example a session that was not blocked or data lost because the app was deleted without a backup.

These limits do not apply to gross negligence, wilful misconduct or personal injury. They do not affect the statutory guarantees you have as a consumer, in particular the conformity guarantee for digital content and services under Belgian law. [TO BE CHECKED BY THE LAWYER]

10. Changes to these terms

These terms may change, for example with a new feature. The new version is published here with its date. If the change is important, we tell you in the app before it applies. If you do not accept it, you can stop using the app and cancel your subscription.

11. Governing law and mediation

These terms are governed by Belgian law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live. In a dispute, write first to support@burrowfocus.app. You can then turn to a consumer mediation body, for example the Belgian Consumer Mediation Service: [MEDIATOR AND CONTACT DETAILS TO BE CONFIRMED]. The competent courts are those designated by consumer protection rules: if you are a consumer, you can bring proceedings before the courts of your country of residence.
